OurHealth Hires Executive Vice President of Marketing

INDIANAPOLIS (June 5, 2017) – OurHealth, a leading provider of employer-based on-site and near-site clinics, today announces the hiring of Shelly Towns as executive vice president of marketing.

In her new role, Towns will be responsible for developing and implementing a compelling marketing strategy that will propel brand awareness, increase customer acquisition and deepen engagement.

Towns brings a strong background in senior leadership to OurHealth with experience in marketing, product management, analytics and strategic planning. She spent 12 years at Angie’s List, rising from staff writer while the company was a start-up to her most recent position as senior vice president of product where she was responsible for a $300 million product portfolio for the publicly-traded tech company.

“Healthcare is an active space with big problems to solve, and OurHealth is uniquely positioned to become the market leader for employer-based clinics,” said Towns. “Ben and Jeff have built an impressive business and an even more impressive team. I’m excited to continue my career in Indianapolis, and I can’t wait to get started.”

“Shelly has been an impactful member of the local business and tech community and has had an impressive career with Angie’s List” said Ben Evans, CEO and co-founder of OurHealth. “We feel confident that her experience will be integral in leading OurHealth’s growth as we hire nearly 500 new employees and expand our services to new markets.”

Towns’ hiring announcement follows OurHealth’s recent funding raise of $37 million, aimed to accelerate the delivery of better, more affordable healthcare. Funding will be used to expand its MyClinic network into eight new markets, develop 11 new MyClinics in Indianapolis and Charlotte, N.C., and invest in sales, marketing, technology and data security as well as launch a direct-to-consumer healthcare experience.

Founded by Ben Evans and Dr. Jeff Wells, OurHealth addresses a growing problem in the healthcare delivery system: a lack of access and unaffordable cost escalation for employees and employers. Headquartered in Indianapolis, OurHealth recently expanded into North Carolina to align with Charlotte’s business landscape that continues to attract progressive companies.

OurHealth Bolsters Presence in Charlotte

INDIANAPOLIS (April 4, 2017) – OurHealth, an independent provider of employer near-site primary care clinics, today announces its continued growth in the Charlotte area. Remote employees from Bankers Life and Anthem, Inc. will receive consumer-focused health and wellness offerings, such as primary care and acute services and individual health coaching at OurHealth’s near-site MyClinics conveniently located around I-485.

Access to MyClinics provide ample benefits for employees who enjoy shorter wait times and longer, one-on-one appointments with clinic staff. At MyClinics, employees spend between 20-60 minutes with their provider (based on the appointment type) compared to the average 6.7 minutes that individuals spend nationwide. The remote employees in Charlotte will visit MyClinics by appointment only so they will experience minor wait times, with 90 percent of patients waiting less than five minutes to see their doctor.

“In Charlotte, we’ve seen that there are many barriers to quality healthcare,” said Dr. Teressa Watts, regional medical director for OurHealth in Charlotte. “With the convenience of near-site MyClinics, OurHealth aims to remove common healthcare obstacles for remote employees and their dependents.”

Employers benefit from an array of advantages as well. By engaging with the MyClinic network, employers can experience a return on their human talent, increased employee well-being, health equity and an average savings of 20 percent on their healthcare costs.

“Employers who have adopted OurHealth’s MyClinic model have seen how improved access to care leads to healthier, happier employees and lowered costs,” said Ben Evans, CEO and co-founder of OurHealth. “Our approach to transformative healthcare fits well with the growth of businesses in the Charlotte area and we’re looking forward to adding new Charlotte employers in 2017.”

OurHealth Named as Only Indianapolis-based Healthcare Company on 2016 Best Places to Work in Indiana List

INDIANAPOLIS — OurHealth, an independent provider of on-site and near-site primary care clinics, was recently recognized by the Indiana Chamber of Commerce as a 2016 Best Place to Work in Indiana. While OurHealth shares this honor with 99 other standout Indiana workplaces, the company is distinguished as the only healthcare organization in Indianapolis to make the list.

Top companies in the state were determined through employer reports and comprehensive employee surveys. The Best Companies Group, which handled the selection process, oversees similar programs in 27 other states. OurHealth was a recipient in the category for medium sized companies between 75 and 249 U.S. employees.

“Being one of the only healthcare companies on the list is a real testament to how invested our employees are in our mission of transforming the patient experience,” said Jeff Wells, MD, president of OurHealth. “Employees of OurHealth, particularly clinicians, have a unique opportunity to spend quality time with patients which allows them to have a much more significant impact on a patient’s overall wellness goals.”

In response to an increase in healthcare costs and a decline in individualized care, OurHealth emerged in 2009 to change the way healthcare is delivered. The Indianapolis-based company operates on-site and near-site primary care wellness centers for businesses of all sizes. The goal is to improve employee overall wellness, lower company and employee healthcare costs, and reduce barriers to quality care. According to OurHealth physicians, this approach makes all the difference – for practitioners and patients.

“What I enjoy most about working for OurHealth is the time I get to spend with patients. I never feel rushed in the exam room and always feel comfortable knowing I can easily schedule patients back for follow up appointments,” said Risheet Patel, MD, OurHealth Provider. “At OurHealth we have an excellent support system around the patient, from health coaching to a team of referral specialists who can help patients access high quality, low cost specialists for care outside of the clinic. We also have an accessible and open leadership team who listens to our input and is willing to make changes to improve the patient experience.”

All companies that participated in the 2016 Best Places to Work program receive an in-depth evaluation identifying strengths and weaknesses according to their employees. Winners will be recognized at an awards dinner on May 5. OurHealth congratulates all of the 2016 winners.
